Prometheus Ember is a parenting-support app by Prometheus Minds. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the control you have. We treat your family's information as what it is — a private file about your child — and design around that.
Who we are
Prometheus Ember (the “App”) is operated by Prometheus Minds (“we,” “us”). You can reach us at support@prometheusminds.com.
Who uses the App
The App is designed for and used by parents and caregivers — adults. It is not directed to, or intended for use by, children. Information about a child is entered by the parent, about their own child, to receive coaching support. We do not knowingly allow children to create accounts.
Information we collect
Account information — the email address you sign up with, used to authenticate you and sync your data.
Parent profile — your first name and an optional photo you choose to add.
Child profile — the child's first name, age, diagnosis status, strengths, executive-function skill progress, and an optional photo, all entered by you.
What you log — check-ins, logged moments, plans, wins, saved scripts, routines, and your conversations with the in-app coach (“Ember”).
Technical data — basic, standard information needed to operate the App reliably.
Adding a photo is always optional; skip it and the App shows a neutral silhouette instead.
How we use your information
To provide the coaching experience and personalize it to your child.
To sync your data across the devices you sign in on (when sync is on).
To operate features you choose to use — sharing with a co-parent, generating a tutor progress link, exporting a summary.
To keep the App working, secure, and reliable.
AI processing
The in-app coach is powered by a third-party AI provider (Anthropic's Claude). When you use the coach, the message and the relevant context about your child are sent to that provider to generate a response. Your family's data is not used to train AI models unless you explicitly opt in via the “Help improve the coach” setting, which is off by default. A safety filter runs before any message reaches the model.
How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
At your direction — with a co-parent or caregiver you invite (view-only, revocable), or via a read-only tutor link you create (which shows skill progress only — never your check-ins, notes, or coaching chats) and can revoke at any time.
With service providers that run the App on our behalf: our hosting/database provider (Supabase), our AI provider (Anthropic), and Apple (for subscriptions and app delivery). They process data only to provide their service.
When required by law or to protect safety.
Storage & security
Data is encrypted in transit and stored with our hosting provider. Access is restricted to your account. No system is perfectly secure, but we design to keep your family's file private by default.
Your choices & rights
Sync — turn account sync on or off in Privacy & data.
Coach memory — turn the per-child memory off; coaching still works, it just starts fresh each time.
Training — “Help improve the coach” is off unless you turn it on.
Export — export your data at any time from within the App.
Delete — delete a child's profile, or delete everything, from within the App. Deletion removes your data from our systems.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. When you delete your data or your account, we remove it from our active systems.
Children's information
Because a parent enters information about their child, we treat that information as sensitive and apply the protections in this policy. The App is not intended for children to use directly. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
